Fast Fix Fridays

{E96} Fast Fix Fridays #33 Does one social media strategy carry over to all the different platforms?

In this week’s Q&A Friday, I answer the question about whether or not one social media strategy applies across all the different platforms. Your strategy won’t necessarily change based on your overall objectives (whether it’s awareness, engagement, sales) but how you implement it depending on the platform will.

{E93} The Secret To Social Media Success Part 2

In this week’s episode, I continue walking you through the Social Media Strategy worksheet that we started in Episode 89. This week we look at creating content, leveraging your content so you’re not always on the content creation hamster wheel, managing your time and what to measure when it comes to your social media efforts.

Key Takeaways

  • When it comes to creating content for your blog, Facebook, Twitter think of what questions your clients ask you about often, how can you share your expertise?
  • Repurpose! You don’t always have to be creating new content but think about how you can get that content in front of different audiences. For example, turn a blog post into a podcast/audio post and share it on SoundCloud, turn a webinar into a SlideShare presentation
  • Manage your time: schedule your core social media in advance and then spend time during the week engaging and answering questions

Fast Fix Fridays

{E90} Fast Fix Fridays #30 How do I manage my time on social media?

In this week’s Q&A Friday, I talk about managing your social media time and how to plan so you don’t feel overwhelmed and can still run the other aspects of your business.

I recommend scheduling and planning out your core social media in advance (so your promotional content that is time-sensitive and you know in advance), creating your images, videos (batching helps!) and then on a day to day basis you focus on engaging/sharing content on the fly.

Key Takeaways

  • Plan your core social media content in advance according to your marketing calendar
  • Use tools like Hootsuite to schedule content and monitor conversations
  • Use tools like Buffer to share content on the fly with your community and that isn’t necessarily tied to your marketing calendar

Spending way too much time in different groups, pinning, tweeting, posting and for what all seems in vain.

Stop Spinning Your Wheels Online! Does this feel all too familiar?

  • You feel like you’re spinning your wheels when it comes to your online marketing.
  • You know what you’re *supposed* to do, but there is no *real* plan and as a result you’re doing things randomly throughout the day.
  • You’ve created all your social media accounts, started blogging, and set up an email list…but nothing is really happening.
  • You’re constantly scrambling with what to say online and joining the latest social network in hopes that *this* will be the one.

Over the next episodes, I will be going over the 3 Pillars of Online Marketing so you can say good-bye to overwhelm and welcome more clarity, connections and clients in 2015.

Key Takeaways:

  • Platform: Get your website in order before you start sending people there. If you’re inviting people over, you’d make sure your house is in order, right? The same thing applies online. Before you start sending traffic to your website, you have to make sure you are ready to receive it! Do you have an opt-in in place? What about your follow-up strategy? Calls to action and auto-responders are important! And making sure you have the key information your prospects are looking for when they land on your site.
  • Presence: Once you’ve got your house in order, it’s time to figure out where your guests are hanging out online. You don’t have to be everywhere but you have to be in the right places.
  • Promotion: Once you’ve got your website ready and your engaging online with prospects, it’s time to ramp things up a notch and increase your visibility online. This is where Facebook ads, retargeting and webinars come in! And of course, making sales!
