The latest social media darling…Pinterest.

Unless you’ve completely disconnected from the web the last month..there’s no way you could have avoided hearing about it. It’s the hottest social network right now..BUT does that mean you should drop everything and join right now?

In this short video, I talk about Pinterest and how it is a tool to consider amongst all the other social networks but there is one KEY thing to consider…

Have a listen and let me know what you think in the comments!

Feeling overwhelmed with all the things there are to do when it comes to running your business online? Drop me a question in the comments, I’d love to answer your question in the next video!

    Sandy,
Thanks for your honesty and helping others stay clear and focused. I believe we can use 101 different tools but unless we get clear about what we want to accoplish in business and life the tools may not be as effective.

      Hi Marta!
      hope you are doing well!
And you are totally right…once you are clear about what you want to go accomplish it is so much easier to find what tools you should use.

      Thanks for stopping by!

    I love the B&W video.
Yo make a very sound point. As someone who loves the next shiny thing, I’m trying to give some time to Pinterest but time is a resource that is very non renewable and in short supply.

In the meantime, if I come up with a justification for using it, like – can it be a good lead generator? – then I may find it worth reallocating time to it.

You’re right. We can’t be everywhere. We constantly need to step back from the candy counter and make a choice.

Thanks Ray, I’m starting to get hooked on video 🙂

I love the candy counter analogy…so much choice but (unforutnately) we hae to choose!!

Thank you so much for this video, my web designer recommended Pinterest to me. The key word that you continually emphasized was time which really made me really think about where my time goes. In business time is everything…. not social toys.

      Hi Milan!

Happy to hear it was useful!
Yes, indeed time slips away too easily if we are not careful.
It’s important whenever the next new shiny thing comes up to ask yourself-“how is this getting me closer to my goals?”

      Thanks for stopping by.

I think it really depends on the business – Pintrest might be more suited to businesses making products with visual impact. I’m about to launch a site selling wallpaper and textiles for home interiors (Mitas & Co.), so Pintrest might be a useful tool for getting the word out about new designs.

      Hi Rachael,

I totally agree and don’t discount Pinterest as a valid social network (I do use it) but just caution entrepreneurs who already have a lot on their plates to really think about why they plan on using and what they are going to do there.

      Thanks for the comment!
